Can I bring my own food and drink?

We kindly ask that no outside food or drink be consumed on site unless prior approval has been granted by Sensory Haven. As a small local business, we truly appreciate your support and understanding.
If you or your child have any allergies or specific dietary requirements, please let us know at the time of booking — we’ll always do our best to accommodate your needs wherever possible

Do you cater for allergies in your cafe?

We are a small, family-run business operating by booking only. To help us provide the best experience, please inform us of any allergies at the time of booking and pre order your meals  — we will do our very best to accommodate your needs.

Question 3

Do I need to wear socks and can I wear slippers?

Accepted Answer

Yes , we ask that all children wear non slip grip socks.
Our flooring can be cold especially in winter months , we encourage both adults and children to wear indoor clean slippers or thick fluffly socks with grips.

Question 4

Can you book the play space and sensory room at the same time?

Accepted Answer

Yes, lots of families do too! Please note our sessions run at slightly different times—for example, the play space might be from 10:00 to 11:30, while the sensory room sessions run from 09:45 to 10:45 or 11:00 to 12:00. You’re more than welcome to book both spaces at the same time or back-to-back, depending on what works best for you.

Is your venue wheelchair accessible?

Accepted Answer

We aim to make our space as accessible as possible and are continuously working to improve. Here’s what we currently offer:
Wheelchair Access:
 A ramp has been installed at the front of the property. Please note that our door width is 70cm, which may not accommodate all wheelchair sizes.
Please note due to the sensory room size/space we can only accommodate one wheelchair user per booking unless  full venue hire option is booked. 
Hoist Availability:
 We have a portable mobile hoist available for use in our sensory room. If you require the hoist, please indicate this on your booking so we can ensure it is ready for your session.
 The LED ball pit and vibrating acoustic bed are both suitable for hoist transfers.
Turning Space:
 While we do our best to accommodate mobility aids, please note that large turning spaces are limited, particularly in the sensory room.
Toilet Facilities:
 At this time, we do not have a disabled toilet or changing space on-site. We understand this may be a barrier for some families and are looking into solutions for the future.

Is the play cafe just for children with SEND?

No , we are  An Inclusive Space for All!
At Sensory Haven, we’re proud to be an inclusive venue. Every session in our Play Space is run at reduced capacity, making it suitable for all children  — from babies and toddlers to children up to age 10.
Our Sensory Room is open to babies, toddlers, children, and adults, providing a calm, engaging space for everyone to enjoy.
We believe that every child should be able to play freely, regardless of any disabilities or additional needs. Whether a child prefers a quieter, more relaxed environment or experiences sensory challenges, our carefully designed venue ensures a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all.
Children shouldn’t have to be separated — that’s why we’ve created a space where everyone can play and have fun together.

Question 7

Can I cancel or reschedule my booking?

Parties & Private Venue Hire

All parties and private venue hire bookings require a non-refundable deposit to secure your booking. The remaining balance must be paid at least 7 days before your booking date. Once full payment has been made, it is non-refundable and non-transferable in the event of cancellation.
Play Space & Private Sensory Room Sessions

Bookings are non-refundable. However, we understand that children can become unwell. If you notify us at least 48 hours before your booking via email or social media messenger, we will happily reschedule your session. Unfortunately, bookings cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Question 8

Do you allow outside food and drinks?

Accepted Answer

If you or your child has any allergies, dietary requirements or additional needs, please let us know before your visit. We'll always do our best to accommodate wherever possible.
To help support our small independent cafe, we kindly ask that food and drinks are not brought into the venue unless agreed with us in advance. The only exceptions are baby milk, baby food and bottled water, which are always welcome.
If you choose not to purchase food from our cafe, we recommend eating before or after your session.
As a family-run business, our café plays an important role in helping us continue to provide a clean, welcoming and inclusive space for everyone, so we really appreciate your support.
